Serving at City
We believe God has given everyone specific gifts, skills and experiences that can serve the church to glorify Jesus and help people encounter Him. We want everyone to experience the joy of serving in the body of Christ and love helping people find out how they can do that.
The Sunday Teams
Our Sunday services are a huge part of church life each weeks need about 50 volunteers for the service to happen, so there’s always a need for people to serve, and loads of different ways people can do that.

Under 18’s(Creche, City Kids and City Youth)
Making church a fun, safe place that our under 18’s enjoy coming to, build friendships and explore faith in Jesus for themselves.
Prayer
One of the joys of coming together as the family of God every week is the opportunity to be prayed for in person. Our dedicated prayer team are ready and visible to offer prayer to anyone who’d like it during our Sunday services.
Hospitality
As a church we are family and want to enjoy time together, but even more importantly we want to be as welcoming as possible to new people and visitors. One of the ways we do this is through our hospitality team provide refreshments before and after our Sunday services.
Sunday Coordinators
Sunday Coordinators oversee all the practicalities our Sunday meeting. They’re the first ones in, the last ones out and are responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly. If you’re looking for a challenge, enjoy working with lots of people and problem solving, why not think about becoming a Sunday Coordinator?
Set Up
Getting the premises ready for church every week takes a lot of moving boxes, putting out chairs, setting up signs etc. If that sounds like something you could do and you don’t mind coming to church early then Set Up might be the team for you!
Set Down
After everything Sunday all our kit needs to be packed away so the school is ready for the week to start again, so if you can move boxes or put away chairs and are able to stay after church for a bit we could use you on Set Down!
Tech
The tech team are responsible for all the audio-visual elements of our Sunday Services. There’s a variety of roles from mixing the sound, projecting on screen and helping with the online live stream so if you’ve got tech skills, or want to learn some we could use you on the tech team.
Welcome
While every member of The City Church is responsible for welcoming new people and visitors into the church, we have a specific team who are doubly prepared to show people were to grab a coffee and find the toilets and give any information about the life of the church. This role is perfect for people who make sure everyone feels welcomed and valued at The City Church.
Worship
If you love worshipping and helping others worship Jesus through music, our worship team are always looking for singers and musicians who can lead the congregation in celebrating our Saviour on a Sunday.
