NEW?

Hello and welcome!

If you asked the average person in the street what they thought of when you said the word “Church”, you would likely hear such words as ‘old buildings’, ‘strange people’ and ‘out of date opinions’.

In stark contrast to these common opinions, here at The City Church Canterbury we believe the church is nothing less than the hope of the world. The Bible shows us that the ‘church’ actually has nothing to do with buildings and everything to do with a community of people who love God and love each other.

We have a passion to build this church not based on current trends or modern ideas but on what the Bible has to say about what church should look like.

We meet 10.30am every Sunday at Canterbury High School (on The Canterbury Campus) and you would be more than welcome!
We hope to see you soon!

WHAT'S ON

There are all sorts at The City Church Canterbury...

The City Church Canterbury is made up of people of different ages, backgrounds and walks of life; we have different needs and different things that we enjoy doing. Because of this we run many activities ranging from toddler groups to gigs to The Alpha Course to theology training. You can find out about some of these by clicking on the buttons on the right.

Having said that, no matter what our age, background and leisure time preferences, we love to work together at The City Church Canterbury to make our great city an even greater place to be. You can find out about some of our projects by clicking on the 'projects' button.
STUDENTS

We love students!

The City Church Canterbury serves a city that has several universities and colleges. God has blessed us with many students who become valued members of our church family during the time they are away from home. After graduation many of these students stay on and find work in the area so that they can continue to be part of our church. Many students become Christians whilst at university, and we are committed to helping them develop their relationship with Jesus and training them so that they become mature men and women of God. We call this 'discipleship'.

A large number of students (about 160) are committed members of the church, serving us in a wide range of activities. Without them our church would be a very different church community! Therefore, we are also committed to serving them while they are with us.

Click on the 'student workers' button to get in touch with one of the dedicated team of student workers who would love to meet you!
