Are you new?
A taste of what’s in store.
We aren't just a club or society - we are a community that is based around Jesus. A key part of what we do is our Sunday Morning meetings.
The practical stuff
We are easy to find with people out at the main intersections pointing the way to visitors' parking. Our welcome team, in bright blue The City Church t-shirts will be on the door to show you where to go. We currently meet in Canterbury, and from 29 January in Whitstable - pick the location most convienient to you.
Before the meeting
Canterbury: arrive from 9am for our 9.15am meeting to grab a coffee, brioche and a look at the Sunday papers. For the 11.30am service we'd love to welcome you any time from 11am for tea, coffee, brioche and to meet people from the church. Look out for our Welcome Team in blue t-shirts.
Worship
Our meeting starts with sung worship; during this time the band will lead us. If you are a Christian and feel God has given you something to share, please speak to the person leading the meeting; they will have given the opening greeting. If you are unfamiliar with worship, feel free to join in or sit and enjoy.
Word
Every week someone from our Teaching Team or a visiting speaker will preach from the Bible.
Communion
Christians are invited to share the bread and wine / juice together. There are communion tables at the front and back of the hall. Gluten free bread is also available at the front tables. Communion happens most Sundays.
Meeting Ends
After the meeting we would invite you to join us in the Visitors’ Area. Here you will be offered a cup of tea or coffee and hopefully another pastry! Our welcome team would love to chat with you and provide you with any information you may require.
If you would like someone to pray with you at the end of the meeting our Prayer Team are here to help. They gather to the left of the stage and wear dark green The City Church t-shirts.
