Communications Officer
Part Time, 14 hours/2 days per week
Required to work in the office for part of Tuesday (team contact day) with flexibility as to when/where the remaining hours are worked across the week
Starting salary of £9,067 (22,667 FTE) – £10,499 (26,246 FTE) per annum, dependent on experience

The City Church is looking for a Communications Officer to help communicate our vision, values, mission, and events to our church family and the wider community.
About the role
As Communications Officer, you will play a key part in shaping how The City Church communicates across digital and print platforms. From developing communication plans to keeping our website and social media vibrant and engaging, you will help ensure our message is communicated with clarity, creativity, and excellence.
You will also work closely with our design partners, Flock & Canvas, coordinating artwork and design needs for church ministries and projects.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement communication plans and review their effectiveness
Serve as primary liaison with Flock & Canvas for design and artwork requests
Edit weekly sermons and upload them to the website
Manage and update the church website, ensuring content is fresh and accurate
Produce the weekly church newsletter (email)
Proofread, format, and send church-wide emails on behalf of Senior Leadership
Create and manage social media content across multiple platforms
Organise video projects, including coordinating videographers, subjects, and locations

Excellent writer
Confident using Microsoft 365
Proficient with Instagram, Facebook & YouTube
Professional:
Able to work to deadlines and prioritise well
Detailed and focused in working

Ability to relate to a mix of people from different backgrounds
Emotionally intelligent
Able to ‘win’ others and work collaboratively
Experience
Required:
Use of basic design software (e.g. Canva)
Desirable:
Use of a wide variety of social media platforms
Videography and photography
Sending bulk communications
Working in an office environment
