This term as a church we'll be diving into the question of ‘Who is Jesus?’ in the second part of our ‘I AM’ teaching series. Last term we looked at the character of God through what He said about himself (through his revealed names) in the Old Testament. This term we want to continue that journey by looking at the character of God through what Jesus said about himself. We will do this by looking at Jesus’ ‘I am’ statements found in the gospel of John.

If we want to know more of what God is like, we need to just turn our eyes upon Jesus

In John 14: 9, Jesus makes the staggering claim that “whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” In Him we see the fullest revelation of the character of God; “For God, who said “Let light shine out of darkness” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians. 4:6). We hope this series will fill our hearts and fuel our worship as we see afresh what Peter saw, “the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Mattthew. 16: 16).
