What is the Ministry?

Kidz Klub – outreach to children and their families through a weekly club and regular visiting.

What is the Vision of the Ministry?

To see children gain an understanding and a love for God that are lasting. We want Canterbury Churches to work together to bring Christ to children and their families.

What does it look like on a week to week basis?

Every Saturday morning is fun, wild and messy! We have games and drama for the first hour then move into ‘silent seats’ for the last half an hour. This is a time when the children listen quietly to the Biblical message given and have a chance to respond to God.

What would be involved in serving in this area?

You can serve in various ways:

  • Praying at the church or at home while Kidz Klub is on
  • Setting up
  • Riding the Buses
  • Acting in the Dramas
  • Bench leading (being with the children on group level bringing enthusiasm and loving discipline)
  • Team Leading (leading one of the teams of children and leading games up front)
  • Visiting the children on a weekly basis, a great opportunity to show you care and to pray for the family.
  • Cafe – for the parents of the children who stay and watch Kidz Klub whilst enjoying a cup of coffee and a chat

What sort of person are you looking for?

Committed people with a passion for God, children and their families. Whatever your personality, quiet or loud, we have space for you!

What is the process if I want to get involved?

Contact Jane Thompson,  or use the form below to contact the church offices. Volunteers will be asked to watch Kidz Klub from the café area for one or two weeks to see if this is something they can get involved in. They will then have an informal chat with Jane Thompson and a member of the core team. We will contact their Church leader and all volunteers will then need to follow the child protection process. After the return of your completed application you will be asked to serve.
