What is the Ministry?

A voluntary year serving the church with five weeks of theology training mixed in.

What is the Vision of the Ministry?

To develop gifting and character whilst serving the local church.

What does it look like on a week-to-week basis?

The week runs from Tuesday to Sunday and each day will vary greatly but will almost certainly include being an integral part of the office team, meeting up with individuals, organising and running activities and generally serving in whatever season of church life we are in.  

What would be involved in serving in this area?

Each ‘Impacter’ usually has one church ministry as his or her main focus.  If you’re a Student Worker, your week will include getting friendly with students; if you are a Children’s Worker it will involve getting friendly with action songs; if it’s an administrative role it will include getting friendly with the telephone.  Most months include three days of theological training in Tunbridge Wells.

What sort of person are you looking for?

We need all sorts of different types of people but the key characteristic we long for in any ‘Impacter’ is someone who is faithful in all God gives them. 

What is the process if they want to get involved?

There is an application form available from www.kingschurch.eu/impact.html. This will need to be filled out and handed into the church offices and will be followed by an interview. The year runs from the start of September to the end of July. Please e-mail info@thecitychurch.org.uk
