What is the Ministry?
Counter Culture Youth is our program for 11-18 year olds
What is the vision of the ministry?
To raise up a group of young people who follow Jesus rather than the trends of their generation. To offer a place where teenagers can find refuge, let their guards down and experience Jesus who promises life to the full. .
What does it look like on a week to week basis?
On Wednesday afternoons we have teams who visit our youth and their families. On Friday evenings we run two programmes on alternate weeks. CCY Riverside is our outreach and evangelistic night and CCY Cell is a chance for our youth to dig a little deeper. Every other Sunday we run CCY Sunday during the morning service, where our youth can receive Bible teaching pitched at their level.
What would be involved in serving in this area?
To be involved in visiting would mean being available every Wednesday afternoon come rain or shine! CCY Riverside would involve being free to serve two Fridays a month from 6:30-10pm. CCY Cell would involve been free two Fridays a month from 6-9:30pm. CCY Sunday would involve coming out after worship two Sundays a month.
What sort of person are you looking for?
Anyone and everyone! You must be up for a laugh, have a lot of patience, plenty of energy and a passion for youth.
What is the process if I want to get involved?
If you are a member you can register your interest on the website of e-mail info@thecitychurch.org.uk. We will arrange for you to visit the youth group. You will then need to have an interview and follow the child protection process.
