What is the ministry?

Multimedia production for the church.

What is the vision of the ministry?

To make sure everybody who comes to anything we do, or watches anything we produce, can see and hear things clearly and comfortably.

What does it look like on a week to week basis?

The Audio Visual (AV) team are integral in many areas of church life but most notably on a Sunday morning where we:
• Record Sunday morning talks and edit them for use on the web
• Set up equipment and mix sound
• Operate the laptop and projector displaying song words, notices and PowerPoint slides

What would be involved in serving?

Working as a team, supporting each other and smiling at one another as we arrive early to meetings to set up our various bits of equipment and operate them.  (As well as showing loving patience to those who think it’s a matter of theology to have the music at a certain volume or would prefer the camera angle artistically skew-whiff).

What sort of person are you looking for?

You don’t have to have previous experience or be a qualified technician (everyone who wants to learn will be trained to use all the equipment they will use) – and so it is a matter of being someone who enjoys attention to detail and can stay calm and focussed in hot, sweaty and often pressured situations.

What is the process if I want to get involved?

Get in touch via the website.  You will then be given a chance to shadow a current member of the team and decide if it is something you would like to be regularly involved in.  If so, you will be added to a rota and often be trained over the course of several Sundays.  We would love to have you on board!
